What's Actually Happening? (Day 144)



Your body and your awareness are the only parts of your brain that are present.


Body – what's actually happening

Emotions – how you feel about what's actually happening

Thoughts – what you think, about how you feel, about what's actually happening

Awareness – (capable of) observing all of the above


We tend to live in the 'about what's actually happening' levels of our minds, and not in the first-hand experience of life – we live in our reactions and stories/biases. This habit comes at an enormous cost, as deep change is only possible when we're working with what's actually happening – with our bodies.


HOMEWORK

Notice what's actually happening. This experiential perspective will take the form of body sensations.
