Space & Your Natural Pace — Day 195

Today we've come to the end of a week of looking at the pace of our human awareness. We're building a richer/subtler understanding of what it's like to be in, and to live life from here. This is the first step in practicing mindfulness and harnessing your mind.

Some people describe being aware as waking-up or being awake. We're talking about the same thing in our Board Room Table metaphor (with the CEO/awareness, Thinker, Emoter, and Body all seated around the table).

There is a certain feel to the pace of awareness that comes out of the space between you and everything else. Far too often, at first, we get tangled-up in our thoughts/stories and emotional reactions. But as we practice, we're building the strength to merely observe...everything (both inside and outside of our minds). This means that we are separate from...everything. There is space.

As you get more familiar with the space, you'll feel a different and natural sense of pace. Living at/from your natural pace is good for...everything!

PRACTICE

Observe something that's far away – notice/feel the space in-between you and it.

Observe something nearby – notice/feel the space in-between you and it.

Observe a thought or reaction – notice/feel the space in-between you and it.

Observe a breath or sensation – notice/feel the space in-between you and it.
