We've been looking at, and getting familiar with, the space between your thoughts. As we start to get more secure in that concentrated space, and can stay there longer, you'll notice an inherent goodness that only begins to show up when you're free of the monkey. This is the calm that arises out of focus, which is the first step on the way to the innate joy living inside you.
At first, the feeling may be very subtle. We are more attuned to the stronger kick of pleasure than this underlying innate goodness. But it will intensify as you build your awareness and focus, until it becomes a perpetual background feeling.
Pay attention to how it feels to pay attention, particularly as those periods start lasting longer and your ability to focus deepens.
