Day 47 – The Antidote to Monkey-Freeze

We've looked at what effect getting lost in your thoughts has on your body and breath – they end up frozen/clenched/tight. This frozen state has a subtle but huge (though initially not even noticed) negative impact on every aspect of your life (physical, emotional and cognitive). Your own brain is asphyxiating and binding you up!

The antidote lies in your breath – taking a deep breath on purpose frees things up again – specifically, in the pause at the top of the breath cycle. This wide-open inhalation posture is the polar opposite of the Monkey-Freeze.

PRACTICE

Notice when you've been frozen and apply the antidote – the pause at the top of the breath.
