We're still looking into the space between your thoughts, and today we'll make an analogous and a direct link with the pauses between your inhalations and exhalations.
As you take your inhale and then pause on top, notice how it's a bit easier to find yourself in-between your thoughts, and the same is true (with a different flavour) of the pause on the bottom (after your exhale). Breathing in and out is action, just like thinking is action. The pauses and spaces are (relative) stillness.
The space in-between your thoughts is deep and fertile. Choosing to be in that space ongoingly is part of being aware, and is the basis of training your monkey mind to focus.
