Day 20 – Consolidation of Your Senses
Today we are consolidating the week of looking at four of our external senses: hearing, seeing, smelling and tasting.
In looking at those four more closely, we find that they all come down to a (usually) subtle sense of touch: sound vibrations hit your eardrum, photons hit your eye, etc. Physical contact must be made in order for your mind to register that something has happened.
We talked about holding a mental posture of open awareness as you go about your day after your practice, and simply observing what sensory data is coming in. The subject (body/self), comes into contact with an object (sight, sound, etc.) and is changed as a result – and all of this is objectively observed by your awareness (The New You!).
